STALAG-TIGHT!

The hunt for the mythical and potentially lucrative 'Dragonfire' treasure located somewhere on the ice planet Svartos soon puts that lovable rogue Sabalom Glitz into danger, during a deleted scene from the adventurous final story of Sylvester McCoy's opening season: Dragonfire.

A TIME OF GRAVE ACTION!

Ensnared he may be in the fiendish trap of 'The Great Healer', chillingly located in his dark underground lair on the funereal world of Necros, but we all know how good The Doctor responds to a life-threatening crisis, especially when up against his most feared nemesis, the Daleks, in Colin Baker's finest adventure within his all too brief era: Revelation of the Daleks.

IN THE LAND OF MAKE-BELIEVE!

The mysterious conjuror secretly dwelling on ancient Earth, Kalid, sees the power of the Sanctum threatened by intruders, watched on by the Fifth Doctor, in a scene from Time-Flight that quickly reveals the enemy's true identity. Hmm, I wonder who it could be...?

Art by Alister Pearson.

The official BBC audio adaptation of Peter Grimwade's Target novelisation will be out in April 2021, read by none other than the Fifth Doctor himself, Peter Davison. Davison was never happy with the onscreen realisation of the story back in 1981, so I hope he is more forgiving of, and enthused by, the audio adaptation forty years on.

PLANT WARS!

On the grounds of Harrison Chase's grand estate, the Fourth Doctor and Sarah face the greatest threat to mankind ever, as The Seeds of Doom are let loose on an unwitting world - the time of the Krynoid! A specially posed publicity image from the widely revered classic six-parter from Robert Banks Stewart (including an opening two parts from Robert Holmes), if a little The Avengers-ish in style- witness The Doctor in near John Steed mode jumping through windows and punching the daylights out of people!

A PLASTIC DEFEAT!

The second Auton threat to planet Earth has seemingly been thwarted by The Doctor, but that doesn't stop Captain Yates and his UNIT men checking out the seemingly 'dead' colourfully disguised plastic menace, in this classic still from Terror of the Autons.

The story that scared children and upset the regular British 'Bobby' in 1971 gets a major upgrade as part of the eagerly awaited Season Eight Collection release of Classic WHO, available Feb 2021.

NOT SO CUDDLY NOW...

Its first attempt to absorb Humanity foiled, The Great Intelligence returns to trap the Second Doctor, within a scheme that sees London caught in The Web of Fear! I always loved the specially posed images showcasing the new-look Yeti creatures as they terrorise the story's memorable supporting characters of Professor Travers (Jack Watling) and his scientist daughter Anne (Tina Packer). Shots specially designed to build up the menace of the Yeti robot monsters after prior complaints that their design during the previous The Abominable Snowmen were too cute.

It's nice to see The Web of Fear being digitally remastered for Blu-ray and DVD release next year, with the missing Episode Three given the animation treatment too.
