Dormant for over a hundred years, the malignant, energy draining Harkol Probe, aka the Malus, begins to break out of its Earthly bonds in a terrific image from the Season 21 gem The Awakening, an Earth-based story which would have benefited from the kind of three-part length explorations that the McCoy era would later enjoy. A distinctive alien creature, via effects whiz Tony Harding, whom we hope might get a little bit more animated with a future official Season Blu-ray release, perhaps?
