The ultimate alien villain of the all-too-brief Colin Baker era. the greedily duplicitous, marsh-minnow eating Sil, as played by the ever-popular and respected actor Nabil Shaban, was a genuine surprise highlight of Vengeance on Varos, as the worm-like being, created by Phillip Martin, used all his considerably crafty skills to reap profits from pain and suffering captured on video, as well as the valuable commodity of Zeiton-7 ore located specifically on Varos. Money-grabbing plans that soon go awry with the arrival of Doctor and Peri to the beleaguered colony world. It was a dead-cert that this character, who'd successfully mix repulsion with comedic overtones within its core-being, would soon rightfully return to the realms of Who-dom.
