To the concern of his two recently kidnapped human companions, Barbara Wright and Ian Chesterton, as well as the curiosity of his 'Granddaughter' Susan, the First Doctor continues manipulating the TARDIS controls in this impressive on-set posed interior image from the original, never screened first episode of The Daleks, which, due to filming production problems, was scrapped and remounted (too close to transmission comfort) for a second attempt that would eventually make the airwaves on 21st December, 1963 - a wonderful Christmas/New Year's present ahead for the series' children viewers, what with the fascinating and scary introduction of the iconic Daleks.
