On the thin atmosphere surface of the planet Vortis, the once benign Zarbi creatures and their weapons grub are controlled for evil by the mysterious and lethal power of the Animus, in this great posed publicity still from The Web Planet, certainly a hugely ambitious sci-fi story attempt for its time from writer Bill Strutton, competently directed by Richard Martin. Over the years the story has had some knocking from WHO fans - I agree it would have worked better as a four-parter - but there's still much to enjoy in it nonetheless, and it's highly original for its time, with some genuinely creepy B/W moments involving the Animus.
