GOING PRIM-ITIVE!

The first 'mad scientist' of the Pertwee era, Professor Stahlman (Olaf Pooley, in a fine performance of edgy dedication and building spitefulness) is determined to see his 'Inferno' project reach the very end of its task in penetrating the Earth's core for mystery gas, even if it means destroying the world, and turning himself into a deadly savage Primord, in the process.

I personally liked the Primord creatures of Inferno, a welcome horror addition to the already tense and doom-laden atmosphere of Don Houghton's all-time classic seven-parter of 1970.

TENTACLED 'FURY'!

A story rich in atmosphere and horror, Fury From The Deep remains an unforgettable adventure for so many viewers who were lucky enough to see it in its one and only original transmission back in 1968. From what can be seen in the surviving John Cura telesnaps its deletion from the BBC Archives is a genuinely tragic one, so anything that celebrated it back before audio and novels were released, helping to heighten its deserved acclaim, was much appreciated, like this splendid edition of CMS' acclaimed eighties published An Adventure in Space and Time partwork series, which featured chilling cover art by the much-missed talent Stuart Glazebrook.

THE ARBITAN QUEST!

Within his unique lair of confectionary dreamscape overkill, Terra Alpha's fearsome figure of murderous sensation seeking, the Kandyman, watched by his partner in sweet making crime, Gilbert M (Harold innocent), prepares to torture the newly captured Seventh Doctor and his blues-singing associate Earl Sigma (Richard D. Sharp), during a memorable scene from The Happiness Patrol, a story which has been better appreciated by fans via its recent special edition upgrade version, part of the acclaimed Season 25 Blu-ray The Collection set. 

TELOS RISING!

What was once a barren, destroyed world is now a hive of activity anew as the deadly Cybermen, and a captured humanoid slave workforce, prepare to blow up the silver foes once ice tombs home that is the planet Telos: cold-hearted retaliation against their long-time Cryon enemies who have been resisting them. A great location photograph for Attack of the Cybermen, filmed in 1984 at Gerrards Cross (and home to the original 1967 filming of Tomb of the Cybermen, which also acted as the Telos landscape).
