TOOTH AND CLAW!
A cunning intellect fused with the most brutal animal instincts have turned The Master into an even greater threat to the Seventh Doctor, of which the battle for Survival between them continues. Resident Renegade portrayer Anthony Ainley shined bright in acclaimed playwright Rona Munro's Classic Series finale.

COMPOST CORNER!
On the stricken Hyperion III intergalactic cruise liner, the unique Vervoid plant-life creatures are hard at work eliminating the human vermin and making a very ordered and special compost corner for themselves, in this deleted scene moment from the always enjoyable to watch The Trial of a Time Lord parts nine to twelve, also known as Terror of the Vervoids.

RETURN OF THE CYBER MENACE!
I'll never forget the day the Cybermen returned to Doctor Who in Peter Davison's debut season story Earthshock. And what a shock it was that time in March 1982- a supreme one of the very best kind, which made the series very cool again with my friends in the secondary school playground the day after the creatures 'reveal' at the end of a very gruesome and atmospheric first episode, creepily on a par with the filmic Alien, and tautly directed by Peter Grimwade. The true stuff of nightmares were back, in impressive redesigned costumes, and looking more formidable than ever in their confrontation with the equally shocked by their arrival Doctor. This was a unique story in a new Doctor's era where the power of good might not always win the day...

OF SWORDPLAY, HONOUR AND ANDROIDS!
Classic literary adventures The Man in the Iron Mask and The Prisoner of Zenda make a wonderful convergence re-imagining within the Doctor Who universe in the delightful Summer-time yarn The Androids of Tara, part of The Key to Time umbrella-arc season where humour and adventure were well integrated. Tom Baker even gets to show off his rapier fighting skills in this four-parter (fighting the wrong way round during an inspired comedy moment) and has a classic final laugh at poor K-9's boat stranded sake!
Another great piece of art that appeared in the Doctor Who -The Complete History Partwork series.

HOW GREEN (DEATH) WAS MY VALLEY!
Jo Grant and her soon lover Dr. Clifford Jones get more than they bargained for when they discover a deadly infestation of pollution-created, poison-bringing maggots in the WHO-brings-home- the-environmental-message Season Ten adventure, The Green Death. Of course these aren't episodic images but instead great posed images of Katy Manning and Stewart Bevan that first appeared in the 1973 Radio Times Tenth Anniversary Special - a souvenir still a terrific celebration of the classic series all these years and subsequent WHO publications after...

THE FINAL END?
The cityscape of Skaro is now a war zone of immense proportions, littered with Dalek casualties as the Human Factor Daleks continue their war against the Emperor's forces. A memorable episode, from a near-completely missing quality story that desperately needs to be animated for fans to enjoy anew- The Evil of the Daleks.
Great footage- love the bubbling Dalek mutant head:

A TIME LORD IN PARIS!
Truly looking the 'Citizen of the universe, and a gentleman to boot', William Hartnell's First Doctor cuts an impressive and confident figure walking the streets of a terrified history-making Paris, during its Reign of Terror, an impressive story from Dennis Spooner concluding an exceptional first year for the series. The tale was also well showcased and blessed with a large number of memorable colour photo promotional images taken during filming.

JUST A FRIENDLY BITE!
She's escaped one trap too many on the quarry world of Lakertya, and now screamy but plucky Mel finds herself caught by one of the Rani's most conniving Tetrap creatures- Urak, in this great image from Time and the Rani, the glossy and controversial launcher for the Seventh Doctor. For me, the Tetraps were one of the story's key successes, and a monster with great onscreen comeback potential.

THE ULTIMATE FOE!
There's definitely no fun to be had for our sixth incarnation hero's visit to the Fantasy Factory, located deep within the dangerous land and mindscape control of arch nemesis The Valeyard, a unique villain who has activated a special death list (comprising distinguished Time Lords attending the Doctor's trial) held by the caricature of Mister Popplewick (Geoffrey Hughes). A specially posed image linked to the finale episodes to Season 23, the whole season of which debuts on special Blu-ray this month, from BBC STUDIOS.
